The Chrome extension collects one thing: a randomly generated anonymous ID stored locally on your device. This ID cannot identify you and is used only to count how many people use the extension in aggregate.
If you sign in to the web dashboard, we store an opaque account identifier (assigned by our authentication provider — not your email) plus basic usage counters: number of sessions and number of reports uploaded. We never store your name, email, or document content.
Usage counters help us understand how many people use DataScrut and which features are most useful. We do not sell this data, share it with advertisers, or use it for any purpose beyond improving the service.
DataScrut is hosted on Microsoft Azure and uses Google Sign-In for authentication. These providers may process limited data as part of delivering the service. See Microsoft's Privacy Statement and Google's Privacy Policy for details.
If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we will update the date above and display a notice in the dashboard. Continued use of DataScrut means you accept the updated policy.
